Thin Scenery; New King Story

Posted: September 10, 2017, 00:53
_
Thin Scenery is a new story by King that can be found in Ploughshares summer 2017 issue.

The Summer 2017 issue of Ploughshares. Ploughshares is an award-winning journal of new writing. Two out of each year’s three issues are guest-edited by prominent writers who explore different personal visions, aesthetics, and literary circles; the Winter issue is staff-edited.

Distinguished writer Stewart O’Nan guest-edits this issue. As O’Nan writes in his introduction, “I want to feel moral confusion, because nothing in this world is simple. As a writer reading, I also admire the precision and audacity of an author’s language and use of form. Do it differently or better, or don’t do it at all.” Featuring new work from Stephen King, Christie Hodgen, Askold Melnyczuk, and Michael Byers, the pieces in this issue cover a wide range of themes and explore inventive narrative structures.

Sounds like the second IT is getting closer. No definite word yet but it looks good...

New Line is making strides on the “It” sequel, hiring writer Gary Dauberman to work on the script.

Andy Muschietti, who directed “It,” is expected to return for the second installment, although he has not closed a deal yet. Producers Barbara Muschietti, Roy Lee, Dan Lin, Seth Grahame-Smith, and David Katzenberg are believed to be back as well.

IT's Here; My Review Of IT

My review of IT is out. But please note that there are spoilers. Enjoy!.

I was worried that the high expectations that were placed on this movie based on all the things we saw before its premier would be too much and it would be caught in the fact that it was a good movie but people’s expectations were inhumanly high resulting in people still being disappointed. Well, that didn't happen and the movie lived up to my expectations and for that I'm extremely happy!

The team behind IT is ready to go when they get GO.

"We are locked and loaded and ready to jump in the minute they say 'go,'" said Producer Seth Grahame-Smith. "The script is not done, but the script is being worked on. Obviously we, all the filmmakers, are just champing at the bit to get started, and we have a very exciting shape, and [It co-writer Gary Dauberman] is working away."

Pennywist Visiting King?

Interesting report from Bangor Daily News. Has Pennywise visited King...

Stephen King has hung the unofficial symbol of Pennywise in the window of his West Broadway home: a red balloon. You know, the harmless plaything Pennywise gives to children, before he snaps them up and consumes their life force? That ol’ thing.

Here are my recap/thoughts on episode 10 (Season Finale) of The Mist. Please let me know what you think.

So far no word on a second season but if they get a second chance and if they do it right I still think they can make this show work. But no more horsemen or moths that gives men wings. We need scary not strange!

Here is a very special edition of IT from Dragon Rebound Editions.

The book enclosure and lid design are based on a literal depiction of the original cover illustration for “IT”, with the sewer grate covering the storm drain. The sewer grate becomes the lid to the box, which holds the book.
