The Road of Trials #2
Posted: December 27, 2009
The second issue of
The Talisman continues where the last one ended and this time we get to see when Jack enters the Territories to see the queen. We also get to see more of how evil Morgan really is. And let me tell you, he is one evil man.
I like the fact that each issue of
The Talisman, so far, has been focusing on one thing. We don’t get much side stories that takes up space from the short number of pages we get and instead we get to focus on the event that is told in the issue.
The style of the comic still feels a bit different from what I’m used to but I like it. I also like who the present is very colorful while the past is duller when it comes to the coloring. It gives the reader a good feeling on what’s happening now and what has already happened.
The bonus feature in the issue is a text by Robin Furth in which she talks about how the comic is different from the book and why it needs to be in order to work as a comic. Very interesting reading.
Lilja's final words about The Road of Trials #2
So far
The Talisman is very satisfying. I like it and I can’t wait to see what Wolf will look like. I really hope they have captured him as good as King do in the book. Maybe we’ll see if I’m right in the next issue?
