Being Human season 2 (US)

Posted: January 23, 2012
In this review I’ll write short reviews of each of the 13 episodes of season 2 of Being Human. My goal with this is to keep the review live and hopefully also get your input on each episode. Each new review will go up around the time of its airing, sometimes before and sometimes after. Oh, and I will assume that you have seen the episode when I write about it so there will be SPOILERs. But if there aren’t, how are we going to be able to discuss them? So, please join in.

Episode 1: Turn This Mother Out (January 16, 2012)

Season 2 of Being Human has now started on SyFy and we’ll finally find out if Nora has been infected by the scratch she got from Josh at the end of season 1. She’s not planning on telling him anything about it until she knows for sure and that the end of the first episode we find out, Nora is now a werewolf!

After killing Bishop Aiden is now looked upon as the new vampire leader but as it turns out the lead female Vampire, called mother, has other plans. She wants him to help her daughter lead the clan. Aiden agrees when she promise him that if he do, she will set him free.

Sally starts to doubt her own existence after missing her door and fear she might be trapped here forever. However when she goes to her high school reunion she meets other that are there for the same reason as she is. And finally things are starting to look better for her. The question is, will it stay that way…

I think season 2 is of to a great start and it’ll be very interesting to see what happens with Nora now that it’s clear that she is a werewolf. I can’t wait to see where they will go from here. And what’ll happen to hers and Josh’s baby now that he has a werewolf for a mother…

Episode 2: Do You Really Want to Hurt Me? (January 23, 2012)

I didn’t think Josh was going to be killed by Hegeman but I didn’t think we were going to get to see Nora’s wolf that soon either. I really liked the special effects on this. Both Nora and Josh’s translation into werewolf’s looked very good. It’s now clear that Nora is a werewolf. She turned and saved Josh’s life but she is a mess and who can blame her? I really like the fact that she is falling apart over it and not taking it likely. I feel sorry for their baby though.

Aiden in the meantime gets more tangled up with Suren who he is supposed to guide and help to be the leader Mother wants her to be. It’s harder than he thought though since he no longer feeds on live human beings and refuses to turn people. I’m not sure what I think of Suren. She’s not yet done a bit impact on my but I have a feeling she can and will. At least I hope she will. I hope she is one mean vampire.

Sally ends up at a party with her ghost friends and there she learns that she can actually take over living bodies. It gives her a chance to eat, drink and feel again and for a few seconds she gets to remember how it is to be alive. But as so often in this series it ends in disaster and she finds out that a ghost probably can kill another ghost…

It will be interesting to see what’s up with the ghost killing ghost thing. If it’s possible it changes everything. Sally wouldn’t be safe even though she is a ghost and already dead. And where do the “dead” ghosts go? I feel that episode two works just as well as episode one. Aiden needs a bit more action maybe but both Sally and Josh has more than they can handle at the moment. Should be interesting to see where it takes us next week.

Episode 3: All Out Of Blood (January 30, 2012)

Aiden has been dating his new woman for some time and to keep his vampire lusts in order he drinks blood that he steals at the hospital and things are going surprisingly well. Then two things happens. The first is that the hospital tightens security on the blood which makes it impossible for Aiden to get more. The second is that he brings his date home...

Josh on the other hand has arranged two storage sheds for him and Nora and his plan is that they will be able to transform in them, separate but still side by side. That way none of them will kill innocent people. Nora though isn't completely sure this is what she want.

In last episode Sally dreamt she opened a door and by accident let something out in her world. She don't know what it is but feel that whatever it is, it wants to hurt her. One day while visiting the hospital she finds a possible way out. She finds a nurse at the hospital that helps the dead get reborn through newborn that otherwise would die.

Episode 3 is very interesting and it happens a lot. When Josh meet Aiden's new girlfriend! I love it. And what about Nora's transformation? I get the feeling she wants to explore her wolf a bit more than Josh wants her to. I hope she does. Not much vampire stuff in this episode and Aiden gets to live his life in piece (or somewhat in piece at least) for a while. Great episode!

Episode 4: (I Loathe You) For Sentimental Reasons (January 30, 2012)

In this episodes our three main characters act pretty much separated from each other. Aiden struggles with staying away from the blood and he really isn’t doing such a great job with it. And it really doesn’t help that he’s forced to work for Suren whom he has a history with, a history she wants to bring back into present day.

Josh meets up a couple that turns out to be werewolves, and they were born as werewolves. After some convincing Josh agrees to show them what he has found out about the werewolf phenomenon with the hope that they will help him find a cure. As it turns out they want the opposite, they want to be wolfs always.

Sally keeps trying to get reincarnated and at the same time keeping out of the thing she brought through her doors way. And, at the same time she tries to help the nurse in charge of the reincarnations to get a life. Unfortunately she does but with someone Sally wants for herself.

The most exciting with this episode is when Josh meets up with the other wolfs and even though he’s not tempted to be a wolf all the time I think he’s intrigued by them and I think we’ll see more of them. I also hope we’ll get to see more of Aiden and Suren’s past. It looks very interesting.

Episode 5: Addicted to Love (February 13, 2012)

The friction between Nora and Josh grows bigger and bigger. Even though she at first was very skeptical and hostile to the two born werewolf's she soon realizes that she might be more like them than she thinks and wants. And in the midst of all this her ex boyfriend, the one who gave her the scars, reappear. And naturally Josh goes crazy.

Sally is enjoying her new body and her new boyfriend and even though it's actually affecting her she can't stop...and then one day she is trapped in the body. What she has enjoyed earlier is now a frightening reality.

Aiden is also lost. He is back being a blood drinking vampire and Suren get more and more under his skin. As of now he seems pretty lost and the non killing vampire has never been further away.

I like that Nora is drawn to the born werewolf's and I hope she will be a bit more violent than Josh and really take to being a wolf. I also like that both Aiden and Sally have to fight for their insanity and their wellbeing and I look forward to see how they will get out from each of their addictions. I don't however like the born wolf's that much yet. Maybe if they keep being a bad influence on Nora... I do like what they did to her ex...
